Little Suzie had a terrible habit of nodding off during Sunday school. One morning, while she was deep in a nap, the teacher decided to test her. “Suzie, who was the mother of Jesus?”
Suzie didn’t budge. Seeing an opportunity, Little Johnny, who sat right behind her, took his ballpoint pen and jabbed her sharply in the back.
Suzie bolted upright and screamed, “Mary!”
“Excellent, Suzie!” the teacher smiled.
Suzie promptly put her head back down and fell right back asleep. A few minutes later, the teacher called on her again. “And Suzie, who is our one and only Savior?”
No response. Johnny leaned forward and poked her with the pen a second time.
Suzie leaped up, rubbing her back. “Jesus Christ!”
“Wonderful, correct again!” said the teacher.
Naturally, Suzie drifted straight back to sleep. Finally, the teacher posed a historical question: “Suzie, what did Eve say to Adam after they had their 23rd child?”
Johnny leaned in for one final, aggressive jab. Suzie sprang to her feet, eyes blazing with fury, and roared at the top of her lungs:
“If you stick that thing into me one more time, I swear I’ll break it in half!”
The teacher fainted.
