A little girl sat at the kitchen island, quietly watching her mother wash the dinner dishes. As her mom moved, the girl suddenly noticed a few distinct strands of white hair standing out sharply against her mother’s dark brunette head.
Curious, she leaned in and asked, “Mom, why are some of your hairs turning white?”
The mother saw a golden opportunity for a quick parenting lesson. She smiled gently and replied, “Well, sweetheart, every single time you do something wrong, misbehave, or make me sad, one of my hairs turns white.”
The little girl went completely silent, pondering this profound medical revelation very carefully for a few moments.
Then, she looked up with wide, innocent eyes and asked:
“Wow, Momma… then how come every single one of Grandma’s hairs is completely white?”
