I was driving through town when I suddenly saw a traffic camera flash.
I immediately thought,
“Great… I must have been speeding.”
But then I checked my speedometer and realized I was well under the limit.
Curious, I decided to drive around the block and pass the same camera again—this time even slower.
FLASH!
The camera went off again.
I started laughing.
“Okay, this is getting ridiculous.”
So I made another lap and drove past at an even slower speed.
FLASH!
Again!
By now, I was convinced the camera was malfunctioning.
Just for fun, I made two more passes, practically crawling past the camera.

I drove home feeling pretty pleased with myself.
“That camera definitely has a problem,” I thought.
Two weeks later, five envelopes arrived in the mail.
Five traffic tickets.
I opened the first one.
Then the second.
Then the third.
All five tickets said the same thing:
DRIVING WITHOUT A SEAT BELT.
That’s when I learned an important lesson:
Sometimes the camera isn’t stupid…
