Paddy was thrilled when he bought himself a brand-new automatic BMW X5 Sport.
During the day, he drove it like a dream.
Smooth acceleration, perfect turns, no problems whatsoever.
But when night came… the car suddenly refused to move.
Paddy tried everything.
He restarted it.
He shifted gears.
He even gave the dashboard a few frustrated taps.
Nothing.
The next night, same problem.
And the night after that.
After an entire week of this nonsense, Paddy finally lost his patience and called the BMW dealer.
The dealer sent a technician to inspect the car.
After checking everything, the technician looked at Paddy and asked:
“Paddy, are you absolutely sure you’re selecting the correct gear?”
Paddy looked offended.
“Of course I am! I’m not that feckin’ stupid!”
The technician waited.
Paddy proudly explained:
“I use D for Day…”
He paused dramatically.
“…and N for Night!”
The technician stared at him.
Paddy stared back.
Finally, the technician sighed:
“Paddy… I think we’ve found the problem.”
