A woman rushed into the police station looking extremely worried.
“Officer! My husband is missing! Please help me find him!”
The officer grabbed a notepad.
“Of course, ma’am. How long has he been missing?”
She thought for a moment.
“About ten days.”
The officer looked up in surprise.
“Ten days?! Why are you only reporting him missing now?”
The woman suddenly looked embarrassed.
“Well… I just checked the calendar.”
The officer leaned forward.
“And?”
She smiled and said,
“I realized his paycheck gets deposited tonight.”
The officer slowly put down his pen.
“So… you weren’t looking for your husband.”
“You were looking for your money.”
She nodded.
“Exactly.”
