I bumped into my blonde neighbor one afternoon and gently asked,
“I’m so sorry… how did your husband, Johnny, pass away?”
She sighed and shook her head.
“It was heartbreaking.”
“Johnny needed an emergency blood transfusion.”
“The doctors couldn’t find his blood type in the records, so they asked if I knew what it was.”
She paused, trying to hold back tears.
“I wanted to help so badly…”
“…but I had no idea what his blood type was.”
“There just wasn’t enough time.”
I offered my condolences.
She smiled sadly.
“Johnny was such a thoughtful man.”
“Even with his last breath, he was still trying to encourage me.”
I asked,
“What did he say?”
She wiped away a tear and replied,
“He kept whispering…”
‘Be positive… Be positive…'”
She smiled proudly.
“That’s the kind of man he was…”
“Always thinking of someone else.” 😂🤣
