Donald Trump Faces Backlash Over Alleged Golf Li:e After New Video Sparks Fierce Debate

Donald Trump has been blamed for lying about a key golf detail as a video of the US President on the course does the rounds.

Trump uploaded a video on his social platform ‘Truth’ of himself magnificently sinking a putt before dropping his club and walking away to approve from those watching on.

The 79-year-old published the video with the comment “36 Club Championships!”, which has been debunked by an authoritative voice in the field.

Rick Reilly quoted @patriottakes on X of the video of Trump, adding the following comments: “Number of “championships” he said he had last time: 24”

“Number he says he suddenly has now: 36”

“Number that his twisted ego just skipped: 11.”

“Number of actual “championships” he’s won: 0”

“#CommanderInCheat”

Reilly has previously been disapproving of Trump and his exploits both on and off the golf course.

In 2019, Reilly released the book ‘Commander in Che:at: How Golf Explains Trump’, which shows “An eye-watering account of the president’s abuse of the rules of golf” according to The Sunday Times.

In an interview with The Guardian in 2019, Reilly said of the man he has known for 30 years: “Donald Trump is the worst cheat ever and he doesn’t care who knows.

“I always say golf is like bicycle shorts. It reveals a lot about a man. And golf reveals a lot of ugliness in this president. And what it reveals about this guy is that he cannot lose. He has to win and he will do anything to che:at.”

Trump’s lies forced Reilly out of retirement

And Reilly added that Trump’s deceit of his golfing achievements motivated the former Sports Illustrated columnist to come out of retirement.

“I was retired, living in Italy for three months a year, drinking Campari,” Reilly commented.

“I kept seeing on my Twitter feed [Reilly mimics Trump]: ‘I’m a champion. You should vote for me because I’ve won 18 club championships.’

“Whoa! That’s a lie because you already told me how you did it. Whenever you open a new course, you play by yourself and declare yourself the first club champion.’ I’m like, ‘That’s a shi**y lie.’”

In his opening 48 days back in office, Trump played golf on 13 of those and that his trips to Florida to hit the Links came at a cost of $18m.
