A Diner Slid Completely Under the Table in a Luxury Restaurant. His Wife’s Explanation Shocked the Waitress.
A man and a woman were enjoying an elegant, romantic dinner at a high-end, candlelit restaurant.
Their waitress, who was busy taking an order at an adjacent table just a few feet away, noticed something incredibly bizarre happening out of the corner of her eye. The gentleman was very slowly, very smoothly sliding down his leather chair, sinking lower and lower toward the floor. Strangely, the woman sitting directly across from him seemed completely unbothered, continuing to sip her wine with total composure.
The waitress watched in absolute fascination as the man finally slid all the way down his chair, vanished completely from sight, and disappeared entirely under the white tablecloth.
Still, the woman remained completely calm, cool, and unruffled, apparently entirely unaware that her dining companion had just vanished into thin air.
As soon as the waitress finished taking her other order, she hurried over to the table, leaned in politely, and whispered, “Pardon me, ma’am, but I think your husband just slid completely under the table.”
The woman calmly set her wine glass down, looked up at the waitress with a confident smirk, and replied firmly:
“No, he didn’t, sweetie. My husband just walked through the front door.”
